As a volunteer language mediator, you provide support as an interpreter at public offices and authorities, schools and daycare centers, child and youth welfare agencies, job centers, counseling centers, women's shelters and doctors' offices, etc.
The service is intended to help break down linguistic and cultural barriers and thus contribute to the participation of people with a migration background.
As a language mediator, you will receive a volunteer agreement. This means that you are covered by liability and accident insurance through the district of Mittelsachsen during your assignments.
A prerequisite for the volunteer agreement is a police clearance certificate, which can be applied for free of charge with a letter from the Accommodation and Integration Department.
As a language mediator, you will receive an expense allowance of €40 per month in which you are deployed.
