The integration concept of the district of Central Saxony describes the strategic further development of municipal integration work against the backdrop of demographic changes, increasing immigration and new legal framework conditions. Building on the 2018 accommodation and integration report, the concept analyzes current developments, in particular the effects of refugee migration since 2015 and the war in Ukraine from 2022, as well as the growing importance of migration for securing skilled workers and regional development
The concept understands integration as a task for society as a whole according to the principle of "support and demand" and emphasizes the networking of administration, municipalities, business, civil society and voluntary work. It serves as a long-term, strategic basis for a coordinated, needs-oriented and sustainable integration policy in the district of Central Saxony.
The integration concept is divided into 8 fields of action:
Arriving in the district - accommodation and initial orientation of refugees
Housing and socio-spatial integration
Language acquisition and communication
Early childhood and school education
Work, training and qualification
Health care
Volunteering and participation
Anti-discrimination, intercultural openness and equality
